How to Edit Committees' Webpages

Please notify to the Website Committee after updates. The committee will make sure it has cohesive design and all links function properly.  

Accepting Invitation as an Editor
The Web Committee will send you an invitation email as editor through Weebly.com. Please go ahead and sign-up to create your own account. Please get your friend's help if you can not do it by yourself. Please keep the log-in info in safe place.  If you already have an account with Weebly, please click the link and sign in.  Please note, you must click the link in the invitation email from Weebly, and log in. After you click the acceptance link, the NWSMTA website will show up in your account under "Sites I contribute to."

How to Edit Webpages

1. Open browser 
2. Type in "www.weebly.com" in address bar and enter.
3. Log in with your email address and PIN you created

4.Click "Edit" right next to "Northwest Suburban Music Teacher's Association"

5. Choose the webpage you want to edit.

6. Scroll down and click where you want to make updates. Type in just as you do with Word Documents.

7. Try the blue bar to change font color/size and add underline/italics. Icon with red "x" over "T" removes them. Try bullet icons to remove/add bullet listings.

7. Publish!!!

8. Please make sure to visit, "www.nwsmta.org" to confirm it appears as you want. Congratulations!

How to Create PDF Files

You can not edit the PDF files on our site using the Weebly system. You must create a new PDF file on your computer first, and upload it to your webpage. Please do not upload WORD documents. The formats allowed are PDF and JPEG only.

To create PDF documents, you will need a PDF printer on your computer. There are many PDF printers available online for free. Once it is installed on your computer, the Word software starts to recognize it automatically as a printer, and you can print out as a PDF file.Please go to the link to see more information( http://www.wikihow.com/Create-PDF-Files). Please try to get help from family members, friends, and your students/parents.  I am sure they love to help you.:)

PDF File name must start with 3-letter abbreviation listed below and end with the year when it was created. If you have space in your file name, under bar ( _ ) will be automatically placed when you upload the file.

Finding Word Documents to Edit
Can't find the original Word file? No problem. Please go to "For Members," click "Committee Information," and click "Download Posted PDF Documents as of 9/15/2013 in Word Document" under Website Committee's column. Type in the password the webmaster provided. You can find all files uploaded in word documents. The newer files created after 9/15/2013 are each committee's responsibility. Please keep in safe place and share with the committee's members!


How to Upload PDF Files

1  Type words to describe the file, such as "Cassette Tapes," and highlight the word(#1). Click the chain link icon. (#2 in the picture below)

2. Click "upload a file."

3. Choose the file you want to upload on your computer, and click "Open."

4. The file uploaded and lick created successfully!,,,,, wait a second. You are not done yet. The file needs to be opened in a new window so that our visitors stay on our webpage. Somehow Weebly doesn't let us do it in one step. Go to the word you just made link, and click. Blue box appears, and chlick "Change."

5. Check "Open link in new window," check "File on Your Website," and click "Save."

6. Publish!! Now you are a webmaster!!
